What is Industrial Cleaning

Industrial cleaning is the cleaning of potentially hazardous areas in industrial facilities. This can include; factories, warehouses, power plants and industrial kitchens, among other facilities. Because industrial cleaning involves large scale facilities that have potential health and safety risks, the cleaners are often required to get specific on the job training about how to clean safely in that particular environment. They may also use specialist equipment or chemicals to help them do their job properly.

Different Types of Industrial Cleaning

An industrial cleaning company will differ slightly from a residential cleaning company. Although they may still cover the obvious cleaning tasks such as toilets, locker rooms, office cubicles and conference rooms, they will also cover more specialist areas such as loading docks, exhaust systems and silos. They will use a range of techniques to achieve a perfect clean.

  • Hydro Blasting: Hydro blasting, or pressure washing, is a water blasting method used for paint and lead removal. It is mostly used for epoxy coating removal projects but can also be used for paint removal on roads and walls, following building works or graffiti.
  • Industrial Vacuuming: The floors in your warehouse can contain chemicals, dirt and debris and metal shavings. Standard hoovering alone won’t remove these particles. Instead, industrial cleaners can power vacuum to ensure all substances are adequately removed from your factory.
  • Decontamination: Chemicals used in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industry can be dangerous if spilt. If a spillage occurs at your workplace an industrial cleaning company should be used to decontaminate the area as soon as possible, ensuring the safety of your staff.
  • Mold Removal: Certain types of mold can cause health problems, but even those that don’t are pretty unattractive to look at. Some industrial cleaners will offer mold removal and remediation to fix this issue. The cleaners will perform mold testing, air testing and secure the affected area before removing it.

Do You Need an Industrial Cleaner?

If you need help with any of the above issues it is best to go directly to an industrial cleaning company. They will have the training and tools needed to get the job done safely and efficiently.
